Italian Ranunculus Corms
These are not ordinary ranunculus corms. We are offering premium 5/7-grade Italian Elegance® ranunculus corms, a larger grade than the 3/5 and 4/5 corms commonly offered in retail packages.
Larger corms contain more stored energy, giving plants a strong start and supporting vigorous growth and stem production under the right conditions. Italian Elegance ranunculus are known for tall stems and exceptionally large, densely petaled flowers.
Choose from the following varieties:
Bianco
A classic pure white ranunculus with large, densely petaled blooms. A beautiful choice for cutting gardens, weddings and elegant spring arrangements.
Clementine
Saturated orange blooms that bring warmth and energy to the spring garden. Especially striking alongside peach, blush and softer spring shades.
Crema
Soft cream flowers with warm buttercream undertones. This versatile neutral works beautifully in both pastel and more colorful plantings.
Giallo
A rich golden-yellow ranunculus with large, very full blooms. The color is warmer and deeper than a typical bright yellow.
Giallo Striato 65-09
Golden-yellow blooms marked with contrasting stripes and variations from flower to flower. An unusual choice for growers who enjoy distinctive coloring.
Hot Pink Ciclamino 722-12
Bold, saturated hot-pink blooms packed with petals. An unapologetically bright variety for strong color in the garden or vase.
Pastello 102-14 — Pink, Peach and Coral Tones
A highly variable Pastello selection producing a lively range of peach, coral and pink shades. Individual flowers may vary considerably in color and form.
Pastello 127-00 — Soft Peach and Light Pink
A softer Pastello selection featuring a beautiful blend of pale peach and light pink tones. Onings describes this variety as tall and productive.
Rosa Chiaro
Large, light-pink blooms carried on tall stems. A classic soft pink for spring arrangements, cutting gardens and wedding work.
Viola 06
Rich purple blooms from a vigorous, productive variety. Viola adds depth and contrast to pastel plantings and spring arrangements.
Salmone
Large blooms in warm salmon, peach and coral-pink tones. Its nuanced coloring makes Salmone one of the most sought-after Italian ranunculus varieties.
What You’ll Receive
Each order contains 10 premium 5/7-grade Italian ranunculus corms of the variety selected.
The 5/7 designation is the corm’s size grade—not the expected flower diameter. These are larger starting corms than the smaller grades frequently sold to home gardeners.
Dormant ranunculus corms arrive dry, hard and distinctly spider-like. That is exactly how they should look. With proper soaking, pre-sprouting and care, they will begin producing roots and foliage.
Detailed instructions for soaking, pre-sprouting and planting will be included with your order.
Growing Ranunculus
Ranunculus thrive in cool weather, but the best planting time depends on the severity of your winter.
Here in northern New Jersey, Zone 6b, ranunculus may be planted in fall with appropriate winter protection or planted in late winter for spring flowering. Growers in colder climates will generally have better results planting in late winter or early spring. Gardeners in milder climates may be able to plant in fall and overwinter them successfully.
Bloom timing and production are strongly influenced by temperature, sunlight and spring weather. Although ranunculus may behave as perennials in some climates, they are commonly grown as annuals in areas with cold winters or hot summers. We do not guarantee that plants will return the following year.
Please research the planting schedule and winter-protection requirements appropriate for your growing zone before ordering.
